Analia walked through the cool night, and she thought of her husband. He was right now preparing the defense and evacuation of Bosc City. His letter had arrived with Zeus a week ago, and his plan was to lead the refugees here, if he could. He also wrote about Asenath, and the pledge that was made, and ultimately how it made him feel. He was surprised and shocked. He did not really know what to do. He was struggling with trusting her, and allowing her to do anything of real importance.

It was finally happening. The Fallen were themselves falling. This Darkening would be the beginning of a new era, a massive change in how things had been done in the past. Normally, a Darkening consisted of the Fallen making war, and the Tracian Knights rising up and defeating them, with a lot of death and destruction to everything around them. But now, the humans would have to fight for themselves, and the knights they had… only Sarannya and Kiril. Just two, because Jorian had decided not to train any after Adonai Tatara.

“Is this what you wanted?” She questioned her father, the One.

It is, but I allowed Jorian to decide it himself. All I have ever done is support him in his decisions. I support you all in all of your decisions; even the ones that hurt you. Otherwise, there would be no free will. You could not become like me without it, and that has always been the final goal.

Analia faltered. “You mean, I can do what I like, and you will support me in it?”

Yes.

“So, I can directly interfere? I am unshackled?”

There was never a rule that you could not interfere. I never told you that you could not interact with the physical world after you left. I only explained that you should allow others to discover what you have learned. I told you that you should help them, so they can learn it for themselves, but not to just give it to them. They need to earn it on their own.

Analia stood in the orchard near the tomb. Jorian was alone, because he did not want others to suffer when he knew that he could take their suffering and weather it better. He was fighting the natural order of things. The natural law of Divine Perservance and Divine Transcendence to finally reach the Light of Enlightenment. Everything fell into place in a rush. It was as if her entire existence finally made sense. She understood the plan for her. She could see her own life strand.

Analia paused, the Forges calling to her. “If I can see my own life strand, why cannot I see the life strands of others?”

I did not make the Eighth Essence for you. You must learn it from the one for whom I did make it.

Analia was in dumb shock. An Eighth Essence? It was made for only one. “Clearly that must be Azarai.”

No answer came.

Looking up, she frowned. She turned to the entrance of the tomb, knowing that the War Blades were done.
